Olympic Torch Run ’09 Grand Pré, Nova Scotia
November 17, 2009The Olympic Torch Run is coming to Grand Pré and we’re getting ready for it! On Friday November 20, 2009, there will be an hour rally before the runners come through and all who attend will enjoy free hot chocolate and fun activities for the whole family at the National Historic Interpretative centre. There will be a UNESCO table set up with giveaways; an Art display; volunteers dressed in period costumes; and a showing of the Deportation movie.
Let’s show the Olympic Torch runners the spirit of Grand Pré as we cheer them on with our Canadian Flags.

What effect would the Heritage designation have on existing businesses in the area? for example – Just Us Coffee; Grand Pre Irving; Grand Pre Convenience Store, etc. What is these businesses want to expand or change to offer different products or services in the future?
A UNESCO designation does not impose any restriction, and regulations remain controlled by the appropriate level of government.
