Successful Meeting – October 2009
October 23, 2009A successful public meeting was held in the evening on October 22 in Grand Pré to address questions that had been raised at the previous public meeting in May 2009. The group was also enlightened by an outline of the direction of the Management Plan draft as presented by the project manager for the proposed World Heritage Site.
A turn out of approximately 40 some community members came to hear their questions answered on how a UNESCO designation would impact their way of life in Grand Pré. There were no further questions identified from this meeting and community members were reassured of the work that is expected over the next coming months. The next meeting will occur in the Spring 2010.
Community members involved with the project spoke with great pride and demonstrated a vision with a strong sense of unity among the community of Grand Pré and all stakeholders of the project.
